Bill Bonds was so arrogant and rude to me for no apparent reason while talking to him over the phone. I had wanted to purchase a new certificate document and he was so annoyed at me because I said I needed a “copy”.
I don’t take lightly being belittled on the phone by someone like him. I had asked him for his name, but he wouldn’t tell me, but found him through searching on the internet. He definitely needs a course in social skills!

Empire is apparently following state laws which require 6 hours to complete the course. When I phoned them to ask if they could lobby DMV and legislators to change to a knowledge-based model (customers who demonstrated knowledge by correct responses could move on to the next module instead of enforced waiting)
I received intelligent responses from two employees named Tony and Britney; however when I spoke with someone who would not identify himself (apparently Bill Bond the owner), he was rude, talked over me, said “this is our business, we don’t want suggestions” asked “who are you to tell me what to do” etc. etc. and then summarily hung up!.
Empire does not have a bad product, but it could be improved. One improvement would be for Mr. Bond to not allow himself to answer his phone. Perhaps he was in a bad mood, but today he was one of the most arrogant and unpleasant people that I have ever attempted to talk with.

Contacted them about an issue with the online defensive driving course that I had already paid for. I have never been treated more rudely.
Every time I tried to explain the issue, the manager cut me off and told me not to tell him how to run his business. Have taken the classroom training with their representative many times in the past without issue. What a shame.
They will never see another cent from me. Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere for defensive driving training.

I have been a customer with Empire for 6+ years. I am shocked by all of the negative reviews. My instructor was phenomenal and anytime I’ve called the main office I’ve been greeted immediately as well as politely and efficiently.
Everyone I’ve spoken with was friendly and informative, including Bill Bonds and I will continue to spread the word as I am very satisfied. Saving hundreds of dollars a year off of my car insurance is definitely a plus- how could anyone disagree?

Yes, I had the same experience I called with a problem with the online course and was basically told I was stupid. The people here are very rude and obnoxious.
Will not be doing business with them again. There are plenty of other companies out there that will treat you like a person and not a piece of garbage.
