Honestly, I wish I could give the Bettis Insurance Agency no stars but I can’t and still be able to write a review. As an insurance agent/broker, I believe that their job is to make sure their clients stay insured.
The Bettis Agency, whom we relied on to provide my family that service for over 14 years failed to do their job. We were NEVER informed that our insurance had been canceled on our rental home back in February of this year. Due to the fact that our insurance payments are escrowed, we had no clue this had happened.
The ONLY reason I found this out is because I called them regarding a letter we got in the mail from our lender. I called the Bettis Insurance Agency at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon. I received a return call at 5:15pm. During the course of the phone call, is when I was told our policy had been canceled in Feb, which means we had a house with NO insurance for 7 MONTHS, OMG!!!! I couldn’t believe it, complete shock.
After being told I didn’t have insurance, I was also told there was NOTHING they could do about it until the following day! I was not given any apology, not we will work on this first thing in the morning and not we will get this fixed for you, nothing other than you will have a return call tomorrow. I asked at that time to please have Mr. Bettis’ call me first thing the following day because I could not let this home go uninsured any longer than it already had been.
About 930am the following day I had not heard back from the Bettis Insurance Agency, so I took it upon myself to call our insurance company directly. At that time, I was informed by the insurance company that they had mailed a letter in January letting them know that the policy had to be rewritten and it went to the rental home – which we don’t live at and to our agent, The Bettis Insurance Agency!
The insurance company then confirmed that it was our insurance agent’s job to inform us that this needed to happen, they NEVER did that!!! Finally at 3:40pm Mr. Bill Bettis returned my phone call, well aware of the situation. I missed the call and called right back, again, again and again, to be told Mr. Bettis was with a client, lol! Mr. Bettis returned my call at 430pm.
Mr. Bettis talked to me in a manner that I couldn’t even comprehend at the time because this is someone who is supposed to be helping me. He told me he was unsure of what happened, said he NEVER got a letter from our insurance company and would have to look into it more tomorrow…AGAIN, I was told there was nothing they could do to the following morning – SERIOUSLY?????
When I asked why he couldn’t contact the Insurance Company today, let me quote “Tiffany do you see a clock right now”! “Yes, I do it says 4:40” “No underwriter is going to be available today to get the information we need”! “Welllllll I guess given this situation and that this house is going to go uninsured for possibly for another day, do you think you could at least try”? “Tiffany I told you, I will call them tomorrow, what part about that don’t you understand”? I think my jaw hit the floor at that point. I have never had anyone talk to me with such lack of respect and with NO remorse for the situation they had caused!
I stated that what I did know, “Was that my original call was on Wednesday at 2pm, and now it was Thursday at 4:40pm and I still have no solution, do you think you will be able to call me by 10am tomorrow? “Tiffany, I said I will call you tomorrow, so tomorrow is when I will call you! Do you know what my day consists of tomorrow Tiffany”?!?!
At this point, I knew that there was not a chance in the world I would do business with them and said okay. Mr. Bettis replied with “Okay and hung up”! Mr. Bettis did return my call the next day around 1050am. At that time, I told him after the way I was treated and talked too that I would never be doing business with them again and that I would also make sure that everyone knows how Mr. Bettis treats his clients and runs his business.
If you don’t want to be treated in this manner, make sure you do NOT USE THE BETTIS INSURANCE AGENCY. IF you are okay with being treated by anyone, let alone someone that you are giving your business to acceptable, I promise this is not acceptable and sorry you would let someone treat you like this!!!
