Home and car insurance
I have been with Detlor insurance for about 10 years now. After selling a car in January I called in to have it removed. We had also had things insured just for winter storage and had to have them Reinstated.
That being said, we received a bill in the mail charging us for a 2003 Monte Carlo. My wife paid the bill and then brought this to my attention, now we did not have any leverage, they again had our money. I called them up and spoke to them being very polite and told them some one on that end made a mistake and did not remove the car after I called. I said we should not be charged for this car that was sold on January 29 on Craigslist. I even offered to show them my craigslist history to proove this. They only responded that their underwriter won’t accept this. I again told them that the rules of the underwriter is their problem and not mine.
All I wanted was my money returned that was not theirs to begin with. Again, they would only comment that their underwriters want proof of sale. I let them know it was on Craigslist and there was no proof of sale. I gave him the title and he gave me cash. They still will not refund my money that was never their’s to begin with.
I DO NOT recommend this insurance company. Any business that takes your money that is not theirs, And refuses to refund it, even after it was said it was their mistake, should NOT be trusted. Notice I did not throw anyone under the bus, I only told you of a ludicrous experience with this insurance provider. I would say, go somewhere else, I am
