Do not use Ted Freeland as your agent!!!
This is the first review I have written like this, so hopefully this demonstrates how important it is to let people know NOT TO USE TED FREELAND AS AN AGENT!!!!
After several years of him as our agent (with no house or auto claims), we finally needed him to do something…which was simply to provide info to our loan officer for our new home. He did not come through…argued that our loan officer was asking for something unreasonable, was rude to us, and was within hours of having our sale not close on time entirely because of him.
Fortunately, we contacted another agent (different company…but will not identify as not to make it look like I am selling them) who did the paperwork with less than 2 hours notice.
Then to top it off, Ted decided not to read his e-mails from me and cancelled our policy prematurely (my email clearly said to leave it in place)! The result? We ended up having NO HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE COVERAGE ON OUR OLD HOUSE until I found out what he had done. He never apologized or admitted he made a mistake.
To top it off, when I called Allstate corporate to reinstate my insurance until it was sold, they indicated that they agreed that Ted was at fault…also indicated that he didn’t do very well at watching my overall insurance rates either. Come to find out there were programs that would significantly reduce my rates with Allstate that Ted failed to advised me on (why have a local agent? Might as well buy on-line!).
So even Allstate corporate agreed that Ted was not looking out for his customers. I have a complaint filed with Allstate and will be making sure that as many people know as possible not to do business with Ted Freeland or his agency.
The only good thing is that we didn’t ever have to file a claim as it could have been a disaster having him as my agent.
