Worst Insurance Company that I have ever dealt with.
I went with Florida Farm Bureau for my home owners insurance in 2010. My premiums and payments were suppose to be escrowed into one payment each month. Today(2/19/2014) I received a notice from my mortgage company that they determined I had no homeowners insurance.
I immediately went to my local farm bureau office and asked them about this. After an agent looked through everything they informed me that my policy had been cancelled since 2011. 2011!!!!!!!! I asked why they did not inform me of this and his answer was “we did not know.” He stated my insurance policy is through a third party and they should have notified me. I have never received a notice and told him that. He then started typing in his computer and printed out a copy of a notice from 2011 which mind you I never received in my mail.
Now what I don’t get is if he could pull this “notice” up on his computer then why on gods green earth could they not know my policy was cancelled and have informed me. Not to mention I pay an annual membership fee every year in that same office. So, for the past 3 years, I would go into the office, pay my 40 dollar fee and not one single person ever mentioned to me that I no longer had homeowners insurance with them yet they kept taking my money every single year.
The agent told me that the membership fee is separate from anything involving my home owners insurance and covers some kind of newspaper and discounts at local businesses which I had no idea about nor have I ever used. Regardless the agent informed me they could no longer cover my home because I have been without insurance for over 30 days. I literally said “so what you’re saying is I’m screwed?” his reply?? “yes.”
I will never in my life do business with Florida Farm Bureau again. I warn anyone thinking of using them for any type of insurance to look elsewhere.
