Union Mutual Fire Insurance Company (UM) hiked my home insurance 50%. It is outrageous and an affront, and in this economy, for UM to raise rates by 50% including that I already carry at $2,500 deductible and have few & minor claims over the years.
The cost of insuring my home, not an option, has become a burden. This affects not only individual homeowners but negatively impacts the economy. What other business gets to raise rates by 50% in one year? Certainly not small business owners.
